March is National Kidney Month

The George Lopez Foundation was invited by Facebook to kick off their Global Causes Program to raise awareness about Kidney Disease and Organ Donation. George had the unique opportunity to share his experience going through a failing kidney, getting a kidney transplant and how he decided to raise awareness through his foundation. 

During the month of March, we will release one video each week sharing George's personal story with Kidney Disease. Watch the series below.

Lopez Coming to TV Land

Lopez, a half hour comedy starring and executive produced by renowned stand-up comedian and actor George Lopez will premiere on TV Land in 2016. John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky (“Silicon Valley,” “King Of The Hill”) will write and executive produce the series. Also executive producing are Michael Rotenberg (“It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”) of 3 Arts Entertainment and Troy Miller (“Arrested Development”), who is producing the show via Dakota Pictures.

George Lopez Foundation Kicking off Global Causes Day at Facebook

The foundation recently partnered with Facebook and Instagram to launch their Global Causes Day. We were one of the few selected non-profits invited to Facebook HQ to kick of Global Causes Program to raise awareness about Kidney Disease and Organ Donation. George had the unique opportunity to share his experience going through a failing kidney, the process of getting a kidney and how he decided to affect change through his foundation.

Raising Awareness about Kidney Disease with our Friends at Facebook

Facebook employees were able to hear George's story firsthand and connect with other employees that share a passion for the same cause. Check out George's first go LIVE video at Facebook HQ.  

George Lopez awarded President's Medal by ASN

At Kidney Week 2015, the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) presented the President's Medal to award-winning actor, comedian and philanthropist George Lopez. A kidney transplant recipient, Mr. Lopez is being recognized for his leadership in raising awareness of kidney health issues and his dedication to improving the lives of those burdened by kidney diseases, through the work of the George Lopez Foundation.
