As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, we’ve have decided to postpone the 13th Annual George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic. We’re looking forward to getting back on the course in late fall to raise money for our kidney families! Enjoy this extra long trip down memory lane. Giving Tuesday Now - Global Day of Giving and Unity

#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 – in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1, 2020 #GivingTuesday – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world. 

At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings people of all races, faiths, and political views together across the globe. Generosity gives everyone power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on. It’s a day for everyone around the world to stand together and give back in all ways, no matter who or where we are. 

We are participating in the global day of giving and unity to raise awareness about kidney disease and the importance of organ donation. In light of postponing our 13th Annual George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic to the fall and closing summer camp, we’re switching our focus to serve our kidney patients during this global pandemic. We are working safely from home to help our patients pay for food, medicine, incidentals and every day essentials. We’re also connecting our kidney families with helpful resources so they feel supported.

"My panic level is pretty high. But I also have a lot of health issues that are very susceptible to stress, so I'm trying to remain calm." While coronavirus still poses a threat, Sarah said her game plan is to stay inside and wear a face mask and gloves when she has to go to her doctor appointments. (Also, even if you feel totally healthy, if you can stay home, stay the hell home because you don't want to unknowingly transmit the virus to someone who is immunocompromised or the elderly, who are already at a higher risk of getting sick.)” said Sarah Hyland via Cosmopolitan.

We have been carefully monitoring COVID-19 developments this past week and I want to reach out with an update. In light of the current public health emergency in California and the challenges of travel, we have decided to postpone our 13th Annual George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic and Celebration Pre-Party, tentatively to late fall October or November 2020.

We want to take this time to let you know that we value your participation in our event and your commitment to helping us raise awareness about kidney disease and the importance of organ donation. While this decision was difficult to make, the health and safety of you and everyone involved is our major priority.

We ask for your patience as a committed and dedicated supporter of our mission. Thank you for your participation and we at the George Lopez Foundation wish you and your loved ones good health and wellness during this uncertain time.
